Underwater Camera

Underwater cameras are very important tools for scientists exploring the deep oceans as they provide the images of the seabed which are the closest thing to actually being there.

The images can be used to discover new marine species or to view the underwater landscapes or seascapes. High-resolution images can detect the shape and colour of even tiny sea creatures, or video can be used to watch the behaviour of marine wildlife. When towed over long distances, underwater cameras can tell scientists much about the detailed seascape and how the marine communities are associated with the various underwater habitats.
